Road hogs

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 19:46, Sunday 6 August 2017

Sent to Angus Council 4 minutes later

These three cars and van belong to two houses in the semi circle of this street. The other houses can't get one car in to even pick people up, including old folk who have to walk out of the street sometimes to get picked up, even by an ambulance in recent weeks that had to park on the grassed area and couldn't actually get close to take an emergency patient away. The green corsa has been in the same spot for months and never moves and possibly abandoned. The work van refuses point blank to not park out of the street even when other cars have managed to get in it will park on the pavement and wait and when someone moves it is straight in! It is highly unfair on the other residents here. In such a tight space it should be one car per household surely and secondary cars or work vans could be parked farther away to allow one per space to at least get in to drop people off safely. It is not only the semicircle tho, after six pm there are a plethora of work vans in the street often taking up space where there is none. Often folks driveways are blocked as well. There are disabled folk living in the area that have no choice but to get family to pick them up farther and farther from their doors. The parking in this street is quite a disgrace especially after six pm, by nine the entire street is often unparkable. Please at least check it out and ask those affected in gedy place. On another note it may be worth reminding cat owners in this street (there are many) that although cats have free roam laws, it is still ridiculous that people with no cats are having to remove a hell of a lot of cat poop from gardens, walls and even windowsills down the street. Your investigations will be welcome!

  • These vehicles are doing nothing wrong in the eyes of the law . its a first come first park basis as that's the law of the land im afraid . these vehicles have as much right to be there as residents and as much rights say for example lorna from lands end visiting a relative . There is no road problem or offence being commited

  • So it's not greedy or selfish then? Just because you say it's "the law of the land"? As long as THESE households have multiple spaces, screw the others right! Screw old and disabled folk! To hell with ambulances as well eh, no need for them to get on the street! Nurses cars visiting very ill people and can't get near. I guess in societies eyes nowadays it's wrong to want people to have access to services like this! Fair enough, will tackle this in a different manner if councils can be relied upon! Time to arrange disabled spaces which will reduce the size of the streets parking considerably. Thanks for making it an easy choice!
